Wolfe Summer School Courses

Our summer program provides students with a choice of skills not substantially covered during the school year that will reinvigorate their love of learning and aid them in the skills they need for both academic and personal success.

Each course is available either in a package of individual sessions or a small cohort grouped by age and ability.


Number Fluency & Mathematics for Everyday Life

Ages 5-18

Develop advanced mental math skills for any age to achieve high literacy with numbers and see the beauty and fun of math. Students are pushed ahead with gamified approaches to advanced arithmetic operations to prepare them for future success in math. They will also build a strong foundation to use mathematical concepts to help optimize their lives.

Summer Reading for Fun and Fulfillment

Ages 5-18

Dive into the joy of reading. Students will be guided to make a personally curated reading list for the summer and set up a system of accountability and rewards for their reading achievements. Younger students will receive individualized reading tutoring to cultivate their confidence and identity as readers, while older students will hone the habits that allow them to read faster and improve their comprehension.

Surfing, Ocean Science & Safety

Ages 5 and up

Develop a love of the beach and ocean through surf instruction for all levels. Catch waves, gain confidence in the water, and enjoy time outside with a skillset that lasts a lifetime. Learn to read the ocean by understanding currents, rip tides, and the science behind surf forecasting. Taught by lifelong surf instructor and natural science teacher Russell Wolfe.

Intensive Spanish Grammar Bootcamp

Ages 12-18

Designed for middle school and high school students in Spanish I - AP Spanish Language to grasp the most commonly confused grammatical concepts in Spanish and attain a mastery of verb conjugation, sequence of tenses, demonstrative adjectives, and object pronouns with which most students at all levels of Spanish struggle.

Intensive Algebra Bootcamp

Ages 12-18

Designed for middle school and high school students looking to sure up some of the most commonly confused concepts in algebra 1, algebra 2, and precalculus, specifically honing in on ways to quickly factor expressions and work with fractions and negative signs to avoid careless mistakes.

Tech-Savvy, Organization, and Executive Function

Ages 8-18

Students learn the high-level skills they need to thrive and survive in a tech-driven society. They become fluent in the best technology and tools to use to their advantage and educate themselves about the pitfalls of the attention economy. Students aim to emerge with a personalized system of organization of which they take ownership and executive function skills to help ensure their academic results measure up to their ability.

Fundamentals of Words and Sentences: A Bilingual Approach to Grammar and Vocabulary in English and Latin

Ages 8-16

Take a bilingual approach to understanding grammar and vocabulary by working in both English and Latin. Learn how words and sentences are formed through the language that Dr. Seuss said, “allows you to adore words, take them apart and find out where they came from.” By the end of the course, students will be confident diagramming sentences in both English and Latin as well as have an expanded vocabulary and appreciation for etymology.

Emerging Science and Technology of the Future

Ages 8-16

A curiosity-driven course in which students learn about the engineering problems facing the world and innovative solutions that are being developed to elevate humanity. Everything from blockchain, machine learning, nuclear fusion, dark matter/energy, and much more. Students are encouraged to suggest topics to cover, thereby developing their research skills and the ability to learn about anything that fascinates them.

The Art of Essay Writing & Research

Ages 12-18

Learn how to structure an argumentative essay, overcome writer’s block, and approach research papers with confidence. This course will give students a framework for writing papers that will impress teachers all the way from high school to college.

Software Engineering and Product Development with AI

Ages 12 and up

Develop web and mobile applications using ChatGPT and other AI tools to speed up the process of building an MVP, learning to code in HTML, CSS, Javascript, Wordpress, and Swift, and exploring the product development cycle for tech software.

Personal Finance, Real Estate & Taxes

Ages 12-18

Learn about the skills most adults only discover after trial and error: investing, budgeting, preparing taxes, balancing assets and liabilities, and more in order to grow a strong foundation of fiscal responsibility. Start young and unlock the powerful effects of compounding wealth with smart money habits.

Life Skills to Thrive in Freshman Year of College

Exclusively for High School graduates

Freshman year is a huge change. This class hones in on what an incoming freshman needs to be successful, happy, and healthy in their first year of college. Areas of focus include time management, work-life balance, nutrition, making the most of campus resources, and more. Each student will be taught the geography of their college town or city and be prepared to immerse themselves in college life from the moment they arrive.
